Roinebhal Country House. Luxury Bed & Breakfast in Argyll, Scotland
Spring Newsletter 2015
Hope you all had a lovely Easter! I had my first visitors from Germany staying with us, who got to enjoy my annual Simnel cake. It was a wonderful weekend, with Spring certainly starting to make an appearance.
My first two workaways have arrived and already seem to know the daily routine. We haven’t been full each night but the few guests we have had in this past week have kept things flowing.
The dry sunny weather has been here and gone although today was much more promising with lots of sunshine. The daffodils and primroses never cease to bloom whatever the weather and the camellias are well in bud threatening to flower any day. Have prepared most of the vegetable beds with the potatoes in and the onion sets almost planted.
We managed a trip down to Harrogate with mum the other week. It’s quite a long haul but she enjoyed having her meals out and celebrating a 70th birthday party with friends and family. Recently I’ve managed along with mum to see a couple of Shakespeare productions live screened from Stratford and also La Traviata live screened again from the London Coliseum in the local Phoenix Cinema. How wonderful was that?? The cinema in Oban was close to closing not so long ago, but with a lot of fund raising and help they have kept it open and are trying so hard to make it work.
The children are all fine doing their own thing. Jenny is busy in Stockholm with a couple of exhibitions and group performance, the latter of which has been accepted for a New York festival at the end of June, as well as having been asked to illustrate again at this year’s Polar Music Prize in Stockholm - this year going to Emmy Lou Harris - and particularly close to home - the great Scottish percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie!
Kim is still running Broth Art in London. Apart from her annual art fairs she will be putting on various solo exhibitions throughout the year.
Ben is working away in London on the release of Washington Irvines new album which should be happening in the next few months. He is also kept busy with collaborating on live events for Killing Moon the record company that he has been working for these past 2 years or so.
Wishing you all a lovely Spring!
